Usually I run 20-40 miles per week and I alternate between the treadmill and outside on the sidewalk. These are by far the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn while running and most comfortable for casual use as well. I did some research and found my first foot type and find out what type of shoes suit me best. They were recommended for neutral runners and riders who can underpronate. I went and tried them out and made up my mind about 15 seconds to buy them. They are very comfortable, the biggest difference I see around and under the heel and toes and is the closest feeling I'll come back running on a mattress. They are very good. Highly recommended.

My favorite hiking boots are made by a company called Hi-Tek. My wife swears by his boots Merrell. I also got lucky with Bass and Colombia. Breathability is important but difficult to achieve with waterproof boots. I would say get a pair of socks wick in a way that will have your feet moisture away from your body if you have less chance for a bulb.
