Baby Ballet Slippers

Baby Ballet SlippersCan I paint ballet shoes?

My three-year K-3 class is already working on costumes for Halloween. My daughter insists she wants to be in June from Little Einsteins. June is wearing a purple dress and ruffled red ballet slippers with a matching ribbon tied around the ankle (like a ribbon tip). I can not find anywhere red slippers so I have to find a way to make her white and pink which are available in red and include a wide ribbon on the back. Here's a picture:

In the past, I always had my students use permanent markers to color their shoes. Because it is a marker does not change the shape of the shoe, as can dip into something, and you can go back and touch the stains easily if necessary. You can use markers on the tape that you want to join as well. Make sure you let it dry completely, and sometimes it helps to use a hair dryer to seal it well. Sharpies are great and they come in almost every color (red, definitely!) Good luck!

Excellent idea, thank you. I also like the idea of spray painting. They will probably only be worn once. Report Abuse

Yes you can, (I'm just leaving the ballet dance) Most stores are selling the painting itself, I recommend that. Get a small bottle, you should use a little.

It is preferable to dye shoes. You can find shoe staining in most grocery or drug. Because the shoes are already white or pink for the red dye should not be too difficult.

If you buy shoes for ballet, you should beable to dye. You could probably soak in purple food coloring (or simply blue dye and red). That might work.

i wouldnt paint them. When the paint dries it will crack and make a terrible disorder. I think u could use fabric paint well. u could look on e-bay or something.

Buy regular ballet shoes and paint them red. I suggest you look for a red ribbon on the Internet, but because you can not paint tape.

you can spray paint red paint and shoes. Be sure to let them dry first.

Spray paint on! They are for Halloween ... I had a lot of use over a pair of ballet slippers spray painted as a kid!. Besides, my dance school girls footwear spray paint by the costumes each year. The store supplies dance shoes is where we had the paint last year only because the studio needs some color. newspaper put in place to stretch to minimize wrinkles and spray. It took a couple of coats for good coverage in all the cracks, but they looked great! I think they would die too messy! Check store children ballet shoes lot cheaper too, if you have not yet purchased. Good luck!

You can take the white with Ritz dye just follow the instructions and stained.
In the 1950s people have their white foam pumps are dead to correspond to the prom or wedding gowns.
The ballet shoes must be a Sinch.
You can also make them moist and painted with red acrylic paint and dry with a hair dryer. I think that the dye is much better.

If they are leather, you can use paint leather.
