A brief history of paper Papyrus is made from sliced sections of the flower stem of the plant papyrus, pressed and dried, then used from the writing or drawing. Papyrus appeared in Egypt around 2400 BC

Then there was Paper
A courtier named Ts'ai-Lun, from Lei-yang in China, was the first inventor recorded around 105 AD Ts'ai Lun-paper introduced the document and a process for making paper to the Chinese emperor and was noted in the records of the imperial court. It may have been making paper in China earlier than the date above, but the inventor, Ts'ai Lun done much for the spread of paper manufacturing technology in China.
Papermaking Chinese
The ancient Chinese first made paper as follows.
- Plant fibers such as hemp were soaked and beaten into a slurry
- The slurry was strained through a sieve cloth tied to a framework that also served as a platform for drying the paper obtained
Newsprint
Charles Fenerty of Halifax made the first paper from wood pulp (newsprint) in 1838. Charles Fenerty helping a local paper mill to maintain a sufficient supply of rags to make paper, when he managed to make paper pulp. He neglected to patent his invention and others do papermaking patent processes based on wood fiber.
The manufacture of corrugated paper - Cardboard
In 1856, the English, Healey and Allen, received a patent for the first item wavy or folded. The document was used to line hats for men tall.
American Robert Gair invented the rapidly corrugated box in 1870. They were pre-cut flat pieces manufactured in bulk that opened and folded in boxes.
On December 20, 1871, Albert Jones of New York, NY, has patented a strong corrugated paper (cardboard) used as a shipping material for glass bottles and lanterns.
In 1874, G. Smyth has built the first single face corrugated machine making. Also in 1874, Oliver Long improved Pat Jones and invented a corrugated doubled.
Paper Bags
The first recorded historical reference paper grocery bags were made in 1630. The use of paper bags have really started to take off during the Industrial Revolution: between 1700 and 1800.
Margaret Knight (1838-1914) was an employee in a paper bag factory when she invented a new machine part to a square base for paper bags. Paper bags have been like before envelopes. Knight can be considered the mother of the grocery bag, she founded the Eastern Paper Bag Company in 1870.
On February 20, 1872, Luther Crowell also patented a machine that manufactured paper bags.
Paper Plates
Paper Disposable food products were first made in the early 20th century. The paper plate was the first single-service product to use invented in 1904.
Dixie Cups
Hugh Moore was an inventor who owned a paper cup factory, located next to the Dixie Doll Company. The Dixie word was printed on the front door of the doll business. Moore saw the word every day, which reminded him of "bowls", the ten dollar bills from the bank In New Orleans, "which took the French word" Ten ", printed on the face of the draft law. The bank had a high reputation in the early 1800s. Moore has decided that "mess" was a great name. After obtaining permission from his neighbor to use the name, he renamed his paper cup "Dixie Cups". It is worth mentioning that the paper cups Moore invented in 1908, were originally called Health cups and cup replaced the only reusable metal were used with water fountains.
