Dog Hiking Boots

My husband and I are planning hikes on local trails so that we can bring our dogs. we were at REI yesterday and I saw some boots and boot liners for the dogs. My question is: how are needed hiking boots dog? We are not planning trails super-hard right now but we have never traveled with pets. Although we do not want to forget, we also do not want to break the bank to buy boots for dogs, they are not really worth it, you know.

not your dog will not require boots just take it easy and enjoy the walk your dogs, remember to take some water and a bowl so your dog can have a drink along the way but I'm sure your dog will love the walk with you

For my dog, the boots arent on research in fashion. i woudnt dress for fun. On the dry summer trails his legs were filled with foxtails stuck between his toes and cause much pain. The boots for dogs allow us to walk together in the summer months, when it is a problem. Report Abuse

I hike with my dogs all the time on different paths and I've never seen a dog with hiking boots on.

There is no reason to buy boots for dogs. Boots may be necessary in certain situations hunting with dogs, but NOT hike. The dogs were made to run through dirt, grass and trees, without having to boot - so why waste your money.

Wild dogs do wear hiking boots? Take your dogs to wear shoes when they go outside? no. they make the boots for dogs, because people buy them, and it's just another way to make money. It's the same reason, they nail varnish ... dog dog ice cream ... any dog! people will buy it instead of using their heads. they are idiots. you're not, because you obviously thought of you, dog hiking boots? what? "take your dog and enjoy walking trails ... without shoes.

they hate the boots and try to get out, u might want to put a good lotion or Vaseline to coat ur dogs feet so they become cracked or sensitive or bring antiseptic wipes and a protective cream check their feet for wounds or anything that could be nestled afterwards.as their pads they get used to toughen up their feet and keep them clean and cover is the best. have fun but watch out for animals that dogs could run after heart and get the chance hurt.good

no real need, they will just make your dog uncomfortalbe. He was born with a built in walking and hiking.
