Buying items made by hand in Arizona? I'm going to Phoenix, Arizona soon and I wanted to buy authentic Indian items such as handmade blankets and moccasins. Can someone help me and give me some advice on where I could go?
Go to a casino here in the Phoenix area and they have these items.
Check out Old Town Scottsdale. There is both authentic and replica well so beware. Understand that the Native American art is different from one tribe to another. What you see is in AZ especially pottery and Navajo jewelry. Moccasins and blankets may be available, but I do not think it would be by a local artist. Most blankets there are actually Mexican.
there are many shops eventful in Phoenix that carry the authentic Indian objects. I love soft-soled moccasins. Good luck and remember to get your moccasins soft sole to a size smaller than your regular size - they stretch.
I know this is not pphoenix but go to Jerome, Arizona is beautiful, I mean it's a small town but there is so much art and where people live is beautiful Nice, the food is excellent To tell you the truth, it is an old ghost town building more but there is a fire station and it is a nice drive up
