Big goals, small goals - where to start? In previous articles, I emphasized the benefits of goal setting. I talked about the things that holds you back and I explained why we need to get the discontent with the status quo. Now it is time to sit down and actually write it.
Where to start and how? If you have any problems to do - good for you! But I know that some people reading this are here because they really want, but they do not know where to start. In fact, I think if you're one of the people reading this - you're struggling with exactly that.
The thing is most of us do not set goals far beyond what is for dinner - if you are the responsible decision, you may be thinking about a little earlier than somebody one that will simply sit and eat. Life is so fast that you just concentrate on getting through the tasks of your day, and you do not give yourself time to dream or want more. Some people reading this might have some other objectives, such as the end of their course of study or going on holiday, but few of us even have them. How can we solve this problem?
Questions you might ask now are:
- How will I accomplish set goals much higher and much more, if I struggle just to get through the tasks in my normal day?
Answer: Knowing that you deserve, you can do it and writing it! - What are good to have goals?
Answer: Anything you want or dream, whatever big or small! - Are my goals too stupid or too impossible to even write?
Answer: They are your goals! Nobody gets to say what you want, or can or can not have! Nothing is too stupid or too impossible not to be on your list.
So where do you start?
Well first goal is to have 1000 be the goals you want to accomplish in the next 30 years or even more! "WOW! Roy Are you serious?" It's great! "Well no, it ' is not that much at all really if you think about it. But if it is never too intimidating with a goal to have 500 or even 100. Any number that feels best to you now. Many people think that to have goals they have to be great! But many people also believe they lack the ability to achieve great things, then they will not even bother to large, in fact, they did not even bother at all. But think of it this way:
One of your big dreams perhaps always been to run the Comrades Marathon (86km/56miles), but you're completely incompetent and perhaps even overweight. So you always thought to yourself "I can not do it! So why not even make it a goal?" Will you be able to just show up if it was tomorrow, and will? No! Is this a reason to stop you and do not want to make it a goal? No! You could fall out of breath like a fish out of water through the first mile if it was tomorrow, but you will never be able to do it at all? YES! Sounds impossible right? It is not impossible! You know, there has always been a dream, so now you just have to want it enough to make a goal and plan your route to get there. Diana Scharf Hunt stated perfectly "Goals are dreams with deadlines."
So the next step would be to write a bunch of small targets under this goal a great help you get there. You'd be surprised how much you will be able to think. For example, losing 10kg, buy running shoes first, walk around the block every day for one week, brisk walk around the block every day for a week, jogging around the block, etc. seems if not now? No, because you know you are achieving the smaller one at a time, to make you the biggest! You know how you're going t.
