Hiking Boots Brands

I do not know anything about brands, but want one that will last and be comfortable with both short bushwalks and hikes of several days (leading to higher track Kokada). Should be waterproof. Any ideas or comments?

My favorite hiking boots are made by a company called Hi-Tek. My wife swears by his boots Merrell. I also got lucky with Bass and Colombia. Breathability is important but difficult to achieve with waterproof boots. I would say get a pair of socks wick in a way that will have your feet moisture away from your body if you have less chance for a bulb. Do not buy without wearing these boots first and do not leave home without breaking them in advance. Good luck and happy hiking!

I'll tell you from personal experience (U.S. Army), you need to look at some key factors. Good sturdy sole, the ankle support, breathable, and the height boot. The latter is particularly important if poisonous snakes / scorpions are a possibility.

= Waterproof Gore-Tex. Period.

If you want a good boot, light and medium term amortized cilitary boot style works very well. In particular, the new models. They usually run between $ 40 - $ 100 dollars in military surplus store. Kinda expensive, but worth the investment.
