Skater WearThe birth of the Gorilla Wear Urban Street

Streetwear is this giant mythical creature of all brands of clothing will be some, but not sure how to make the pieces fit to do so. It's like kids in high school popular that everyone wants to go out with, but you continue to get saved when you try to get too friendly. It's an industry that gave birth to a little over the last decade and has slowly turned into a runaway train driven by a 500 pounds gorilla. Some people say that the term "street wear" is overused and they are probably right but you can not deny its existence. Business clothing brand made some time ago is all the rage to be "urban". urban clothing brands have created this industry-chic hip where people prefer to buy a new shirt or a pair of limited edition sneakers instead of paying their electricity bills. Who needs light when you look fly straight hell?

You see, I can write this article because I personally witnessed the transition of the industry first-hand growing up. When I was 6 years old my parents gave me a skateboard for my birthday and I've never kidded. I would like that skateboard, pink Nightmare on Elm Street skateboard wheels with banana yellow. He was very ill at the time. I quickly started to read all the magazines, skateboard on the market. I think I had one year subscription to Thrasher 10. I can almost remember every magazine cover skateboard dating from about 1986 and looked at the culture and style changes and change radically over the years. Almost 25 years later this same industry that was once frowned upon is now flourishing. At that time, skateboarding was simply not "accept" and where most people not very friendly to the skaters themselves, if you had a skateboard when you a thug pure and simple. It was not accepted by any culture or at the time. When people saw you on a skateboard they got scared thinking you were going to steal their handbags. Now, skateboarding is the Olympics!

In 1986, I had my first taste of skating style and was the beginning of the street wear industry for me. I've seen brands such as Vision, Airwalk and Powell Peralta opened the way for today's urban brands. Many urban clothing inspirations today stem from what the fathers of streetwear god created so long ago. Without them, the industry would not be what it is today.

Marks quickly began to realize that the kids where really starting to dig this stuff. T-shirts, hats and anything else you can think slowly started to fly on all shelves. I remember my whole back to school shopping from a catalog pads California cheap for 5 years in a row, this time BMX was just starting and creating a whole new extension in the urban streetwear community. At the time, it was Chuck Taylors and the Red Hot Chili Peppers that carved urban streetwear crowd today. Now urban idols and figures are on the covers of some of the most common magazines, cereal boxes and commercials floor through the world representing their favorite streetwear brands.

When hip-hop has found its way onto the stage he has changed things. Not for better or for worse it has added another element to the industry. This was another way for brands to capitalize on a brand new urban population. I remember about 12 years and being the only person at school listening to Black Sheep, and I loved it! Today, marriage between hip-hop and skateboarding style has created a catalyst for what the industry is now streetwear. Since the skateboarding culture Southern California swept the cost of the West Coast is, children of downtown quickly began to create a new type of reference to that skate culture today. Children today are exposed to some of the best elements of style and we quickly began to see the shades used in the manufacture urban skateboarding. We were still mA.
