Soccer players are gifted athletes, physical strength and agility that would put many other sportsmen and women to shame. The finely tuned, committed professionals that we see play in the final of the World Cup and in leagues around the world have access to the most advanced models of the football boot to improve their performance. Since the first pair of soccer shoes ever produced for King Henry VIII in 1526 at a cost of four shillings, this vital piece of equipment a player has evolved into a multi-billion dollars.

In the late 1800s, the heavy boot style gradually became replaced by a lighter shoe that the game has changed and recreational sport. In 1891, a revision of the laws of the game has projection on the sole of the shoe for the first time. This pioneering initiative introduced studs and saw the first incarnation of the modern football boot. Weighing one pound, the thick leather boots ankle would not allow the most flexibility but offered much-needed growth of the steel toe-capped work boots.

The twentieth century has seen a little progress and various soccer shoe manufacturers starting mass production including Gola, Valsport and Hummel. In Germany, industrious Dassler brothers introduced the interchangeable studs to give carriers the ability to adapt to playing surfaces and different conditions. This developed in the 1950s when the football boots have been equipped with metal screws or plastic dowels.

The Dassler brothers were to play a more important role in the evolution of the football boot, then their previous work proposed. After a bitter dispute the two separated and formed Adidas and Puma, now two of the biggest names in the manufacture of soccer shoes. In 1948, when the brothers share their company, Adi Dassler formally registered Adidas while Rudolph Dassler society would become Puma. Both companies were to become mass manufacturers of football boots realization of classic designs such as adidas Copa Mondial (1979) and the Puma King (1968).

The Copa Mondial, released by Adidas in 1979, became the shoe's best selling football with his three-stripe design and language synonyms flip. The Puma King continued to sell sportswear and other companies entered the market including Umbro, Lotto and Diadora. But more to come.

In 1994, Adidas has released the highly anticipated, revolutionary adidas Predator. This football boot has broken the mold, almost literally, with his "extrusions and polymers stud blades. Designed by former Liverpool FC soccer player Craig Johnston, the adidas Predator football boots took the world by storm as it claims to rise and depart power with rubber molds on top of footwear. With player endorsements of such global stars as Zinedine Zidane, Paul Gascoigne Gazza and David Beckham, the brand continues to grow and evolve the design with titles such as the Predator Precision (2000) and the Predator PowerSwerve (2007).
