History of Vans Skate Shoes Vans Skate Shoes, like most other things these days, began with the dream of a person. That person was Paul Van Doren, and his dream of making shoes and selling them directly to the public.
Paul Van Doren actually started making sports shoes when he worked in a factory on the east coast. He also teamed with people who had experience in the manufacturing of shoes. They were Jim Van Doren, Gordy Lee and Serge D'Elia. Unfortunately, none of them actually had any experience of retail.
Despite this setback they just managed to open its first store in the year 1966 on the 15th of March. This was the very first Vans shoe store and it was located on 704 East Broadway in Anaheim, California. At this point, they offered three styles of shoes. They were priced at $ 2.49, $ 4.49 and $ 4.99, but they were sold like shoes display only.
From the first day they were opened, they got 12 customers. They have not really that many shoes they asked customers to return later in the afternoon, then rushed into the factory and made each of the chosen place. There was a small problem. When each of the 12 clients who came to pay their shoes again made the change they need, and since no one group was their experience in retail, they do not really expect when they gave costume shoes and asked them to return later and pay. Fortunately pines, 12 of their customers were good honest people who actually come back to pay for their shoes.
In the beginning, Vans shoes had a diamond patter unique, but it quickly became apparent that this case cracks in the balls from the outside easily this way. They did not find it, so they decided to try something different. It was decided that the area would have ball vertical lines added so that the shoe would be stronger and able to handle more. The embossed like the unique design of Vans shoes are set apart from others.
